Caythorpe

Caythorpe is a highly regarded village set in the Trent Valley having the cohesive qualities of a traditional English village; the Black Horse Inn is a fine example of the 'village local' and The Old Volunteer a respected more contemporary pub – restaurant.

The annual Village Show is a longstanding event in the social calendar of the surrounding area and the Caythorpe Cricket Club is a well-respected club competing in the County leagues at both senior and junior levels.

The larger neighbouring village of Lowdham offers useful day to day amenities and primary schooling, coupled with direct road and rail access into Nottingham centre and Newark on Trent.

The Minster town of Southwell offers a more extensive range of retail amenities, professional services, sports centre and subject to entrance requirements, Southwell schooling is of a renowned standard across the age ranges.

Newark on Trent, some 14 miles to the north east of the village offers first class amenities (including a Waitrose supermarket) professional services, restaurants and leisure facilities including a sport centre and marina.
